With a market cap of Rs. 77,479.4 crores, the shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited surged nearly 3 percent to hit an intraday high at Rs. 392.75 on BSE, as against its previous closing price of Rs. 381.35.
The stock has delivered positive returns of nearly 43 percent in the last one year, while around 11.4 percent of negative returns in the last one month.

As per the latest regulatory filings with the stock exchanges, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has been awarded the status of Lowest Bidder (L1) by South Western Railway for a project valued at Rs. 156.4 crores. The project is set to be completed within 18 months.
The scope of the project includes Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) for the design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of 2×25 KV Overhead Electrification (OHE) and Power Supply and Isolation (PSI) Systems, including TSSs, SPs, and SSPs, along with Electrical General Services, Engineering, and Telecommunication works between Rayadurga (Excl.) and Topavagada (Incl.).

Financials
RVNL reported a marginal decline in revenue from operations, experiencing a year-on-year fall of nearly 2.6 percent, from Rs. 4,689.3 crores in Q3 FY24 to Rs. 4,567.4 crores in Q3 FY25.
Similarly, its net profit decreased during the same period from Rs. 358.6 crores to Rs. 311.4 crores, representing a decline of nearly 13.2 percent YoY.

Incorporated in 2003, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited works as the construction arm of the Ministry of Railways (MoR) for project implementation and transportation infrastructure development.


The company is engaged in executing various railway projects, including new lines, doubling, gauge conversion, railway electrification, workshops, metro projects, bridges, construction of cable-stayed bridges, and institution buildings.
