‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ may revive for new sequel

Popular horror franchise The Texas Chainsaw Massacre might get another installment.

It has been three years now since the Netflix released a legacy sequel of the Tobe Hooper’s classic on February 18, 2022.

As per the new reports, the cult classic might be revving for a new sequel. Director JT Mollner and producer Roy Lee are at the forefront of this conversation.

The latest reports suggest that the production companies are knocking the doors of the ‘Verve’, the agency that has been reserving the rights of the films since 2017.

As per the representatives of Deadline, “Verve represents The Texas Chainsaw Massacre estate and is building out a multimedia strategy for the seminal horror franchise.”

Reportedly, the agency has not officially submitted the intellectual rights of the franchise to any filmmakers, buyers or producers.

The reps went on to say, “Because this is such a hot and iconic horror property, packages are preemptively being brought to Verve.”

Supposedly, Lionsgate and A24 are looking forward to gaining the IP for the new movie.

Meanwhile, if the new entry officially gets confirmed then actor Glen Powell has shown interest in reading Mollner’s script either to feature in the film or to work as a producer, reports.
