Currency exchange rate: Saudi Riyal to rupee for February 21, 2025



The Saudi Riyal (SAR) saw a slight change in the open market pn Friday, with the buying rate at Rs74.49 and the selling rate at Rs74.63.

This marks a minor increase compared to yesterday's rates, where the buying rate stood at Rs74.49, and the selling rate was Rs74.62.

While the fluctuation is minimal, the Saudi Riyal remains a key currency for remittances, especially with the continuous demand from Pakistani expatriates working in Saudi Arabia.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia launched a new symbol for its national currency, the riyal, to strengthen its financial identity and global recognition.

The design, inspired by Arabic calligraphy, includes the name "Riyal" and reflects the kingdom’s cultural heritage.

The symbol aims to enhance Saudi Arabia’s position in global finance, especially among G20 members, and will be gradually integrated into financial and official documents.

The initiative, backed by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, aligns with Vision 2030 and is expected to foster national pride and boost confidence in the riyal.
