Paul W.S. Anderson teases the structure of his House of the Dead adaptation. Scream 7 finds even more space to squeeze people into its cast. Plus, Jack Quaid teases Hughie’s arc in The Boys‘ final season. To me, my spoilers!
Scream 7
Deadline reports Michelle Randolph and Jimmy Tatro have joined the cast of Scream 7 in currently undisclosed roles.
Halloween Store
Variety also reports Simon Rex and Natalie Lind will star in Halloween Store, a horror-comedy from producer Keenan Thompson following a group trapped in a costume store facing a shadow killer on All Hallow’s Eve itself. Shane Dax Taylor (Murder Company) is attached to direct.
The House of the Dead
In conversation with Variety, Paul W.S. Anderson revealed his upcoming House of the Dead film will “play out in real time” in much the same manner as the Sega railshooter its based on.
It’s going to be immersive and very, very scary. It’ll all play out in real time, so it reflects the experience of playing the video game. The only time it stops is when you beat the game or you die. That’s going to be the only way out. The script is almost done. We’re aiming to shoot in the fourth quarter of this year.
The Running Man
In another recent interview with Empire, Edgar Wright described his upcoming remake of The Running Man as “a dangerous road movie.”
It does feel like making a road movie in a lot of ways: a very intense, dangerous road movie. Ben [Richards] is moving through different environments and meeting different people as he tries to survive 30 days out in the wild.

House of the Dragon
Showrunner Ryan Condal (via Comicbook) has teased that the next season will adapt four key events from Fire & Blood.
Season 2 is huge. Season 3 is huger, in many ways. There are, by my quick count on stage, four major events from the book that we get to adapt and realize in three dimensions in this season. That’s really exciting on a scope-and-scale perspective, and I think it’s the thing the show does really well. The things that we’re building are mind-boggling. But what I’m most excited about from a dramatic perspective is that we got to have a little fun this season, and there’s a conceptual episode, meaning that it isn’t in the traditional vernacular of what we’ve laid out as the structure of a House of the Dragon episode. It’s very character-driven, and I think it’s really great and I’m really excited to see it rendered.
Alien: Earth
Fangoria filmed some Alien: Earth props on display at SXSW in a new Instagram video.
The Boys
Speaking to Comicbook, Jack Quaid teased Hughie’s growth in the final season.
I will say it’s been really cool to see Hughie get some good wins this season. And it’s been really cool to see him… I think he’s the most mature he’s ever been. It’s a very dark season. I mean, obviously it’s the show, but, Hughie really grew into himself this season and I’ve been really enjoying playing that side of him. Obviously I can’t say, too much, but it’s been a really cool experience.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
Finally, speaking to Collider George R.R. Martin discussed the difference in tone HBO’s take on the Dunk and Egg novellas will strike from his other Song of Ice and Fire adaptations.
I’ve seen Dunk and Egg, the first season, and it’s great, and now they’re working on the second season. Those are two characters were really special to me, and they’re unusual, those characters. They’re not what most people would expect in a fantasy story… It’s a little softer. It’s a little more humorous. I hope the audience will be open to that kind of change.
